The Cannon Group team effectively represents PPL’s business interests in managing information technology contracts and costs.
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Cannon Group has signed a comprehensive, results-driven contract with PPL Corporation, expanding the three-year relationship that began in 2009. Services will include IT vendor management, Telecom Expense Management and associated Sourcing support.
Tom Cannon, Principal of Cannon Group, says the engagement is “reflective of PPL’s emphasis on IT vendor relationships, the rigor placed on expense management and the desire to drive value to their business.”
“Cannon Group will deliver comprehensive IT vendor management support, in addition to life-cycle activities related to telecom contracts, billing and expenses,” Cannon says. “Our team is tightly aligned with PPL and we share common goals to maximize IT and Telecom-related value.”
The Cannon Group team will interface with PPL’s largest IT suppliers and provide managed support for telecom expenses.
In addition, due to the contract’s results-based nature, Cannon Group will deliver thorough reporting needed to measure progress and accomplishments. According to Tom Cannon, these targets and results will keep the team highly motivated.
Jim Schinski, PPL’s Chief Information Officer, has sponsored the project to leverage Cannon Group’s experience and best practices, including the staffing of a vendor management office, ongoing life-cycle telecom support from order to payment, and contract negotiation support.
“The Cannon Group team effectively represents PPL’s business interests in managing information technology contracts and costs,” says Schinski. “We are confident in their ability to continue to achieve positive results.”
