Cannon Group Drives Best-in-Class Contract
for Citrix Systems
Contract Negotiation & Optimization
Citrix Systems had lost control of its wireless spend and was looking for outside assistance to review, rationalize, and leverage $1.5 million per year in total wireless spend. Internal resources had been reshuffled and newly assigned resources had no wireless background. With more than 1,300 corporately-paid wireless devices (mainly PDAs) within the network spread between four wireless carriers, Citrix needed visibility into its environment. In addition, two of their wireless carrier contracts had expired and required re-negotiation.
Cannon Group recommended a full wireless assessment of all Citrix’s wireless carrier contracts, bills, and spend/trend, including re-negotiation of two of their largest wireless contracts. Additionally, Cannon Group analyzed existing on-boarding and off-boarding practices while also reviewing all ordering procedures with existing carriers to review all possible areas for efficiency.
To achieve this, Cannon Group experts performed a variety of activities for Citrix. These included reviews and benchmarks of all four client wireless contracts, a deep-dive analysis of all wireless carrier bills for compliance, pooling, voice rate plan, data plan analysis, and feature review and recommendations. In addition, Cannon Group negotiated with the two wireless carriers and created zero usage reports for each carrier.
By the end of the project, Cannon Group had achieved annual savings of $70K from enhanced new contract discounts and $325K per year from optimizations and zero users. Cannon Group identified and turned off more than 350 additional zero users across four carriers that Citrix had been unaware of, negotiated new, best-in-class carrier contracts for two wireless vendors, and optimized pooling on all four carriers including voice and data plans.
