Infographic: 99 Percent of the U.S. is Covered by At Least One LTE Network

October 7, 2014

So far, 2014 has been a year of fast-paced growth for the U.S. wireless industry.

Since our last post displaying an overview of U.S. wireless coverage in Q2 (see Comparing Network Coverage in 2014), the wireless environment has continued to shift.

This is thanks to game-changing feats like the continued growth of LTE, sudden progress in WiFi networks and an overall increase in mobile network quality (see AT&T and Verizon Will Offer WiFi Calling in 2015).

Now, one quarter later, Mosaik Solutions LLC offers insight into the current state of U.S. wireless networks.

Important Facts to Note*

  • Ninety-nine percent of the U.S. population is now covered by at least one LTE network
  • 84.9 percent of the U.S. population has at least two 4G choices
  • 23.5 percent of the population has the choice of at least five network operators (down 59 percent over last year, due to consolidation of many rural operators – for example: Sprint Collaborates with Rural Carriers to Expand LTE)

Check out the maps below for a visualization of Mosiak’s insights.
