Last year, experts predicted a greater focus in cloud integration for enterprises in 2015 (see What to Expect for Enterprise Infrastructure in 2015) — emphasizing that, as organizations begin to see cloud as an essential investment, it’s important to remember strategy. In particular, our past blog posts served as a reminder that you’ve got to consider how cloud fits into your business, as well as ways to be responsible about cloud implementation.

In addition, while implementing cloud can be an incredibly beneficial move for businesses, we pointed out that there are many potholes to avoid on the road to savings and simplicity.

Now, we’re seeing these predictions and tips come to fruition in the business world. According to a recent study, many enterprises are moving to hybrid cloud for flexibility and potential cost savings.*

Some notable findings about enterprise cloud usage:*

  • 100% of study participants reported using at least one of the 24 cloud application service choices provided.
  • 60% reported using ten or more different cloud application services.
  • 30% reported using all 24 of the cloud application service choices.
  • 81% of respondents say they plan to operate in a hybrid environment.
  • 20% plan to migrate over half their applications to the cloud.
